Credit Card Terms - Outstanding Balance

Your outstanding balance is how much you owe to the credit card issuer. It constantly changes as purchases, cash advances, interest charges, and any other charges are added to the previous balance. And your payments are deducted from the previous balance. For example, if your balance is $600, and you make a payment of $400, your new outstanding balance is $200.
