Credit Card Terms - Certificate Authority (CA)


Certificate Authorities issue Security Certificates used in SSL connections and function as trusted third-party organizations that can verify the identity and origin of a person or organization. Certificate Authorities issue digital certificates directly to end-users or to other certificate authorities allowing them to also issue digital certificates. Two examples of certificate authorities are Thawte or VeriSign.
